The area on Campus that I observed was the Kehr Union Building. I chose to observe the room with the pool tables and computers because I find it interesting that there is a room with two things so different from each other. While I was observing, I noticed that the people at the computers study, write papers, and print papers they need for class while minding their own business. They keep quiet and prefer to be alone while working. However, the people playing pool blast music and talk very loudly to to one another. It is very interesting that a room contains two different settings all in one setting. I found that the people that are studying and writing papers do not seem to be annoyed or distracted by the people playing pool and blasting music. I found that to be very abnormal because usually people like to study and think in peace. It is also very dim lighting in there and very dull, I personally could not see myself spending time playing pool and hanging out with my friends in a place that contains people doing homework and such a dull surrounding. I think this setting represents what it means to be a college student because it shows two different activities people engage in while at college which is doing schoolwork and hanging out with their friends.
